Global Support Engineers based in Ghent are part of Agfa Healthcare’s global support network. Together with colleagues in Shanghai, Melbourne, Munich and Waterloo they know the ins and outs of our applications, together they keep hospitals going. Are you ready to make a difference?

As a Global Support Engineer you:

  • Analyze and restore services to the customer environment as quickly as possible.
  • Take ownership of our customer incident prevention, maintain and improve a pro-active service as described within the SLA/OLA.
  • Align with other team members or subject matter experts to solve complex issues and manage the customer experience by keeping customers up to date about the progress made.
  • Assist product quality teams with the analysis of problem records to determine a root cause and advise the product owners to improve our products and support processes.
  • Support the development of training documents and mentor regional support specialists during their expat mission in our HQ by sharing best practices and training material.
  • Participate in the development readiness assessment, ensuring a smooth Go-Live by supporting regional colleagues with hypercare activities.


What you bring to the table:

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree, preferably in an IT related field or can present equivalent experiences.
  • You have 3 years of experience providing technical support to clients with a complex software environment (ideally within healthcare).
  • You have good knowledge of networking and operating systems such as Linux or Windows, knowledge of Oracle databases or VMWare is an asset.
  • Experience with ITIL incident management is an asset.
  • Being a problem solver, you have an analytical mind and think out of the box.
  • As a strong team player, you can maintain a high level of quality in a continually changing environment.
  • You can work on multiple projects or issues simultaneously and prioritize to meet deadlines.
  • With your proactive approach you go the extra mile for (y)our clients.
  • You are willing to work beyond regular working hours and participate in a 24/7 on-call system.
  • You have great communication skills in English (written and spoken), knowledge of other languages (e.g. Dutch, French or Spanish) is an asset.
